Description: Treating obesity with bariatric surgery should be thought of as a starting point, not an end point. A key to success after bariatric surgery is the long-term postoperative management. This webinar will review the common types of bariatric surgery and highlight import considerations when managing the macronutrient and micronutient needs of patients after surgery. In addition, this session will explore the role of anti-obesity medications to prevent or address weight regain after surgery. 


 Objectives: 

  • Identify common bariatric surgical options for eligible patients
  • Describe important aspects of postoperative nutrition management 
  • Utilize appropriate AOMs for post operative bariatric surgical patients
